As Baselworld 2014 opens its doors for the press we are as anxious as you to see all the new releases! To start, here is Romain Jerome’s new ‘Nose Art’ watch. Inspired by the theme of air travel, pilots and their girlfriends, RJ comes up with a new concept ‘DNA’ – the Nose Art that has embedded DNA from the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.
The name of the model comes from a form of art that was introduced in the Second World War in Germany and Italy, which later spread and became popular through the use of ‘pin up’ girls. We once saw these pin ups on the MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt but Romain Jerome made it a very big part of the watch by decorating the entire case back with different versions of the girls.
The front of the watch features a chronograph and a very distinctive camo dial (that we just happened to match with Anish’s jacket). We only saw 2 different versions of the watch, one in black steel and one combined with rose gold, but eventually there will be several editions (each limited to 99 pieces) with different variations of materials and pin up girls.
As Baselworld 2014 continues we will be bringing you live updates of all of the novelties we can get our hands on, so stay tuned!
